Rickie accepted the call to form a choir in 1988 and by1989 had co-written with her new songwriting partner, Rev. Michael Beckwith, 10 powerful songs for the Agape Choir. The title cut, I Release and I Let Go appears in its original form with Rickie and the Choir in a classic performance. Says Rickie, “It was a perfect way to end the recording session (in 1990) with singers live in the studio, singing their hearts out with me at the piano. It was a moment to remember. Some of those singers have passed on and what remains is their part in the collective sound of Joy exhibited in every song on this album which is a must have.
